What makes us human?

Posted on Oct 8th, 2008 by Sherrilene : Peace Warrior Sherrilene
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for October 08, 2008:

Acknowledging and accepting our divinity... that we are of a higher being in nature and not only devices, being controlled by others...

What does it mean to be fearless?

Posted on Oct 4th, 2008 by Sherrilene : Peace Warrior Sherrilene
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for October 04, 2008:

It's to be free.

On accepting that all your fears are but figments of your imagination, as nothing's wrong, the whole idea of withholding yourself from living is released!

I'm being brash and crude about this, I confess. Because I'd like to lay this squarely on the table: that all we fear is in our heads mostly and we can rarely identify with certainty what exactly we are scared about...

I add to this, there are too many stories of persons with unlimited thinking that are charting their waters daily, without complaint, and yet often without their full 'able bodied' ability...

These people are what may be called 'free spirits' and they fit the profile of those I consider to be fearless in my opinion...

Peace and love to all and everyone.

Is there anything for which you would give up your life?

Posted on Sep 29th, 2008 by Sherrilene : Peace Warrior Sherrilene
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for September 29, 2008:

Is there anything for which you would sacrifice your life?

Simple answer: No. I didn't give life to myself, so I have no right or reason to give it for anything or anybody.

I think I have plenty to live for, case in point the multiplicity of experiences which are available in this lifetime... the joys of which I will never have sufficient time in any lifetime to participate in, to immerse myself in, to absorb totally and fully.

I really should get ahead with it... time is tight! Only about another 50 years to pull this one off lol

What are your feelings around those who would answer in the reverse?

It is a choice. Live life now or think about what might have been somewhere down the road, when the options and energy are less. It's up to you!

Inspired by Brian Johnson this morning...

Have a great day people!

Love to all, Sherri

What does it mean to be a saint?

Posted on Sep 28th, 2008 by Sherrilene : Peace Warrior Sherrilene
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for September 28, 2008:

A saint comes across to me as this supercalm individual, who is unmoved by the evils of this world, remains peaceful and harmonious, warm and friendly... just unbelievably perfect! I think you can tell I usually use this word in cynicism or in disbelief even lol

I must confess, I couldn't go anywhere near the Church definition of a saint because there is so much misguidance in the Christian Church and its longstanding traditions and indoctrinations...

And so I'll just try and rally around Leonard Cohen's definition and see what I come up with:

A saint is someone who has achieved a remote human possibility. It is impossible to say what that possibility is. I think it has something to do with the energy of love. Contact with this energy results in the exercise of a kind of balance in the chaos of existence."  -- Leonard Cohen

This sounds much like most mothers I know actually... the incredible fact that there are intact families at all despite spiritual and emotional departures from home priorities is what I could call 'achieving remote human possibility' lol  Seen my Superwoman blog?

My homeboy the Dalai Lama would have to be thrown into this mix too. Thanks to Dawn for the hookup.

That is what Saint in today's time means to me. Special mention to BB's blog on saints which I felt was pretty much perfect.

Peace and love to everyone here and beyond! Sherri

How do you prepare for the unknown?

Posted on Sep 27th, 2008 by Sherrilene : Peace Warrior Sherrilene
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for September 27, 2008:

'the unknown'... it's so 'out there' that I can't think how to prepare for it!

Life just is, isn't it?

I suppose I try my best to remain open to possibilities and see what comes at me as a potential opportunity for something great to conclude...

So I stay alert and discerning.

Peace and love, intentionally,

What's the farthest you've ever been on your own steam?

Posted on Sep 26th, 2008 by Sherrilene : Peace Warrior Sherrilene
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for September 26, 2008:

I'd have to say to Kenya, which was a dream come true and to the border of Russia which was just a dream! All based on my strong desire to make a difference from my actions, with my life...

So, buckling down to engage with what my heart was calling me to do has taken me physical and metaphysical places I had never conceived of. 'Own Steam' really was acceptance of the Life Force, the Universal Gas of things, into my space as my own. The big job was receipt, not too much else...

I smile as I think of that...

My heart's desire continues with work in my homeland that was impossible to consider five years ago; absolutely impossible. And that is just about perfect, in my opinion.

I must confess, I'm onto considering what else I would like to have in my space since obviously dreaming with faith and purpose works. :)

Peace to you.

Just thought I'd share this, this morning. With love always...

What is hanging in the balance?

Posted on Sep 22nd, 2008 by Sherrilene : Peace Warrior Sherrilene
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for September 22, 2008:

I would have to say a number of my relationships...

As I develop and accept my path here on this plane, I get to questioning what is 'best' for me and what isn't. And as the answer usually brings me to a place of putting self love much more prominently, I'm seeing that a lot of relations and dynamics in them, have been harmful to me or at the very least, not helpful in my establishment of happiness firmly in my space.

It doesn't seem worth it to continue with certain kinds of relationships now...

So I'm using the transit to consider changes for future... but changes of the harmonious kind if I am able to.

Peace, perfect peace as my granny would say... to you.

What's the best way to celebrate peace?

Posted on Sep 21st, 2008 by Sherrilene : Peace Warrior Sherrilene
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for September 21, 2008:

Lennon on Peace

For the past three years I have joined with the United Nations Day of Peace and have sought to share peaceful energy with people in my circle through my mailing list and through mindfulness on peace.

This year I have made a choice to extend this to honour the peace in me and to nurture it, by integrating more fully with people that are peaceful in mind, spirit and intention. I feel the love in me growing as I do this.

Specifically on GAIA I'd like to honour Anna [hummingbird.gaia.com], her husband Gien, Deb [yhd52754.gaia.com], Mila [armila.gaia.com], Samme, Erin [crouchingtiger.gaia.com], Ange [ange2u.gaia.com], Dawn [synonymforlight.gaia.com], Hal [shortsleeves.gaia.com], Aley [enlightenedthinker.gaia.com], Jeannie [willowinthewind.gaia.com], LeAnn, Ms. Abundantlife! [authentical.gaia.com] and Eli [eliroberson.gaia.com] for continually promoting for Peace and warm harmony in existence.

I'm certain I'll come back later today and add a few more names, you know how that goes!

I have a few others in my physical space who I am honouring today as well, with joy.

I close with my 2006 tribute to peace, which resonates with me on this day as well.

Peace Day 2006

I now go and honour the presence of the Dalai Lama, my living hero...

Blessings and peace to you, all my friends.

What section would you add to the newspaper?

Posted on Sep 20th, 2008 by Sherrilene : Peace Warrior Sherrilene
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for September 20, 2008:

Re-balancing  - Directions to who needs assistance and what they need!

Then people can get up the same time, rifle through their excess things and channel them appropriately to places they can be absorbed and fully utilised. No limits to what the needs might be or where from... you just never know, do you?

Perhaps sponsored by people with surplus cash... ? And placed on front and back pages, in case you don't have sufficient time to read the whole paper, at least you would have got a glimpse into how you can help someone else out that day in some meaningful way...?

Peace and love to all today
