Getting ‘Hooked’ on this Simplicity thing

Posted on Jul 21st, 2009 by Sherrilene : Living Ever Closer to Excellence! Sherrilene

Have you ever wondered if you might have an addiction to complexity? I have [wondered].

Indeed, like many people, my mind has protested the possibility that life could be ‘that simple’, having obviously experienced a great deal of jumping through hoops and over hurdles en route to the time and space I live in now.

Continued in my newest Beautiful Little Blog entry entitled 'Getting 'Hooked' on this Simplicity Thing!

I hope you will join me there!

Blessings and love,

Sherrilene

What would you do if you lost everything you owned?

Posted on Jul 21st, 2009 by Sherrilene : Living Ever Closer to Excellence! Sherrilene
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for July 21, 2009:

I don't own anything, it's on loan.

I just do my best to treat it well, as if I respect it being a gift for the time that I have it.

And to regularly thank the Creator for making it available to me in the first place.

Some people haven't been granted such opportunities...

Bless,

Sherrilene

Integral does NOT equal Truth...

Posted on Jul 19th, 2009 by Sherrilene : Living Ever Closer to Excellence! Sherrilene
I was pleased to have the opportunity to read an article entitled Masculine Spiritualities and the Problem of Patriarchy by Joseph Geifer, who has written a new book titled 'Numen, Old Men'; and to see him very effectively lay out his views on a number of issues I have had about the Integral Movement and in particular the methods of the ever-famous Ken Wilber and his followers.

Indeed I have been offended as a person several times, to see the manic ego-raging expressed as these persons sought to speak on spirituality and humans, clearly with no interest nor concern for how they destroyed the contributions of people who have been practising spiritual living as a matter of course and were not just 'waking up' to the subject, which apparently, many of these new 'Masters' were.

But somehow the 'guys' felt they had the right to impose their versions of Truth on the world and we better take it!

On distant analysis, and combining observations in different parts of the world on how patriarchy manifests itself, I've ultimately concluded that the Masters of Integral and other patriarchal representatives don't know Truth, or else they would NEVER find the need to minimise another person's experience or contribution about Spirit, IN THIS LIFETIME!  Reflecting repeatedly on what somebody else has written is not an indication that YOU YOURSELF have LIVED on or followed a path, thus the Guru mindset of entitlement to tell people how to think is absolutely off-base and, I believe, quite irresponsible! It is an obvious example of patriarchy in its pure form.

Mr. Geifer has helped me along to this expression and I'm thankful. I never had the time  to sit and read through the ridiculously lengthy elaborations from the Integral posse till now [I was too busy physically helping individuals and groups out, on the ground], so I did not have a solid basis for saying it was limited; just my gut told me, 'These guys don't know God, or they wouldn't have to smash people to bits like this to express their Truth!' That being subjective and even judgmental, I tried my best not to express my opinion.

Well, as always I think my gut was right! As the Geifer blog clearly shows, there is blatant discrimination, prejudice and stereotyping woven deeply into the Integral elaborations. It is no different philosophically than the Truth that the Catholic Church imposed and to my mind, is [was? I haven't checked in recently] simply seeking to take over as the next mind-control approach of many.

I say stay clear of any philosophy which puts people into greater or lesser states and categories for picking apart and assessment. We were all created by this Universe and all have relevance. Like in my commentary on Development, I acknowledge the role that each major thought shift takes; it has its place but it is by no means the complete picture.

Patriarchal leadership has led to such destruction of the Human Being in its pure form, I CANNOT WAIT till it has purged itself out of our lives finally by demonstrating its lack of usefulness for this time and for the future. There is only so much emotional, physical, intellecutal  and spiritual abuse this species and indeed all other species that we were supposed to have 'dominion' over, can absorb.

Let's hope this is the tail end of this phase being manifested and move into a state where we can be respectful of all Beings ... and especially our Selves. Onto 'Atriarchy' and Human Freedom!

Wishing us all the Best,

Sherrilene

Significant Eclipse on the way...

Posted on Jul 17th, 2009 by Sherrilene : Living Ever Closer to Excellence! Sherrilene
From www.cainer.com

Your Week Ahead Saturday, 18 July 2009

Click here to see a larger picture.

The longest solar eclipse of the 21st century takes place this week. It will be more than a hundred years till we see one that beats it for duration. To see it, though, you'll need to be in Northern India or Central China. Or in a boat, about 100km south of the Bonin Islands. Too far to travel? Fear not. Though you may not witness the spectacle, you'll feel the power of the alignment wherever you are. Eclipses create moments, in all our lives, when we can change our destiny if we really want to. Make a sincere wish this week, and the sky will support you.

Are you doing too much?

Posted on Jul 17th, 2009 by Sherrilene : Living Ever Closer to Excellence! Sherrilene
Will you let the pursuit of what you’re doing (which is almost always too much) conceal your ability to enjoy life and the fruits of your work?

Take a look at this great posting.

When Economy got lost in Economics

Posted on Jul 16th, 2009 by Sherrilene : Living Ever Closer to Excellence! Sherrilene
I have sat in an observer role for the past seven years or so, indeed with some dismay, as the economic patrons of our world endorsed systems of mediocrity repeatedly and wastage with excuses became the standard operation for not only business but macro economy as well.

I observed that maybe, maximum, two approaches were used to manage economic policy, which basically spoke to toggling the interest rate at the Central Banks and messing around with imports. Meantime politics and the games built into it kept citizens distracted and too confused to even query what was going wrong!

I've watched countries which were exploited for their resources to help build the capitalist patrons financial might, be offered 'loans', which of course they were held accountable to repay... or else, irrespective of if those 'debts' and the seemingly infinite interest attachments would wreck the growth ability of the same countries...

I've looked on and observed a System that would endorse the sacrifice of home life by families, especially mothers, so that the productive can feel like they have a survival chance.

It hasn't been pretty. It hasn't been inspirational or encouraging.

And thank God it is crumbling...

Really simply: all of those ideas about Economy being tied to prudence, thrift and Home, they need to come back and fast.

It is useless to tie all economic indicators to proportional GDP when so many people are left out of the distribution of wealth. And let's face it: accrued payments due are a risk at the least and a hope at the most in terms of valuations in a country's wellbeing...

Can we get real? Can we get down to basics?

Until national performance factors include how the people are: are they satisfied, are they peaceful, are they hopeful... how can anyone rightly say a country's 'standard of living' is better or worse, or whatever?

Too many times the human factors are neglected in Economic development. And I ask, development of whom? Development of what? And perhaps best yet, development FOR whom?

There's only so many roads and highways that can be built before awareness sets in that one's satisfaction does not derive from driving a car across a highway... There is a place for this, but it is such a low ranking activity in human development, perhaps someone ought to step back and/or up and grace us with some social services which attend to us respectfully and contributively.

Just my thoughts; on a global valuation problem.

Looking forward to your comments.

Best, Sherrilene
