Bonding with Obama

Posted on Nov 3rd, 2008 by Sherrilene : Living Ever Closer to Excellence! Sherrilene
I spent this past weekend bonding with the beautiful energy of Mr. Barack Obama.

As an outside observer to the Presidential election campaign,  I had consciously decided to not 'engage' because of my knowledge of how fickle we people can be, and that the great enthusiasm that might have been showing say, early in the year, for Mr. Obama, might very well have passed by this time. And so I wanted to see how the world would look as the date approached.

I still don't believe that the U.S. elections this time around are going to ripple across the world with its usual effects since the States has unfortunately broken many ties with other countries over the years and probably has to pay some attention to getting itself in order now. But symbolically, an Obama Presidential victory will signify a great change in the world at large. And this is something I've been waiting somewhat impatiently for. :)

For some very good reason, I did not have internet nor telephone access this past weekend. I had cable TV; something which I NEVER watch!

And this weekend at every turn, I took opportunities to tune in and hear Mr. Obama speak... and I found a kindred spirit, to say the very least...

I see now that his gran has passed at a very significant time, but as my own experiences have told me, these events often occur to usher in something new and wonderful. That soul energy has moved on but is certain to refresh Mr. Obama in the end, since the certainty that his grandmother and matriarch is no longer in pain will have relevance to him, knowing the man that he is [which, very very strangely, I feel I do!]

The student Barack Obama with grandparents, Madelyn Dunham (R) and Stanley Dunham, in New York (undated photo from the Obama campaign)

I merge my loving and most peaceful energy with that of Mr. Obama, his beautiful family, and all of the people in the world that he is consciously or unconsciously representing. I see no agenda of self-service, nor do I believe these petty attacks from his opponents are deserving. I do hope that the American people can truly recognise Quality when they see it... and then go out and endorse it.

For the sake of my family and my friends here on GAIA in the States, I pray for nothing but success for Mr. Obama and all he stands for. The world awaits a new America with a baited breath.

Love to all my friends, everywhere.

Back from hiking in Dominica... What an immersion!

Posted on Nov 4th, 2008 by Sherrilene : Living Ever Closer to Excellence! Sherrilene
mistymountain

I just got back from a hiking trip to Dominica! I had an ABSOLUTE ball! Just sharing some of the images that we experienced while visiting. It was my third time, but my first doing the sites on foot. I also went to the Creole Festival, but unfortunately no pictures.

We woke every morning to images like this: the mountain covered in mist, gentle rain periodically. It truly was beautiful.

Hikes daily, really strenuous but totally rewarding as you reach your destination. I re-twisted my knee [old netball injury that wishes to stay with me for life, apparently] while climbing the trail from Middleham Falls to Stinking Hole... I KNEW I shouldn't have gone there! It was a big cave where the bats do their thing... lol Not pleasant, that bit...

Some more shots:

Good friends of mine: Sally [who I met through my work in Personal Development Facilitation and who introduced me to this group] and Lynden, a truly gentle spirit that saved my life a couple, ok, many many times. [No, I am NOT a hard core hiker lol]

Me O

Now, at the end of a really arduous and daring hike through the mountains, what better to meet you on the home stretch to Trafalgar Falls than... well, an enormous 'Obama for President' poster? Having spent each evening literally pinned to the television to see the final days of campaigning, this was THE treat for me after my final day of hiking! Lots of American tourists visit Dominica on cruise liners especially. Yep; that's me on the left wearing my powder blue Oprah hat [gift from a friend in Holland.]

There are loads of other images that I will post as I get the pictures. As we speak, my camera is in my bag which is, well, still not with me. I am hoping everything is intact when I get it. Not too much luck with luggage during my travels this year.

Nonetheless, fantastic memories. I'm not going to forget this trip for some time.

Do enjoy with me!

Love, Sherrilene

What predictions have come true in your life?

Posted on Nov 5th, 2008 by Sherrilene : Living Ever Closer to Excellence! Sherrilene
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for November 05, 2008:

That I would be richly blessed.

I remember when I would take my grandmother to church on Sundays. She moved kind of slowly with her weak knees and her very impaired vision, but she made an effort to be there. So I walked with her slowly down the aisles, to her seat, to the bathroom if needed... It was a labour of love, I see it now.

And so often the other old ladies and strangers we would pass, would say to me, 'You treat that old lady so well! The Lord is going to bless you for your care!'

I heard it so many times and it was confusing because I didn't understand any other way to treat her. Why was the 'blessing' so significant? It seemed much more important to everyone other than myself... It was my unfamiliarity with anything other than our mutual unconditional love.

But yes, God was watching. And the kind of love and care that I am given from the world right now and in my lifetime generally, is truly indicative of the kinds of blessings these people expressed.

I am grateful...

Love is great.

Peace to all my friends everyone. Sherri

Excellent article about polarised world views, found at Beliefnet

Different Worldviews for Obama, McCain Faithful

Half of John McCain voters believe Barack Obama is or was a Muslim, while many more Obama voters say McCain ran an 'unchristian' campaign, rather than vice versa.

BY: Steven Waldman and Dan Gilgoff

Religious Obama voters and religious McCain voters worship and pray at similar rates but interpret the Bible in dramatically different ways--and have starkly different views on the issues—according to a new Beliefnet user survey.

Among those who attend church weekly, 81% of Obama supporters pray daily compared to 93% of McCain’s supporters. But when asked how they interpret the Bible, only 17% of Obama’s most religious voters believe “The Bible is the literal word of God,” compared to 58% of McCain’s religious voters.”

A bit long but a great deal of significant information. Christopher Witecki did predict a divide occurring, people taking sides... Well, here it is!

How do you like to be woken up?

Posted on Nov 10th, 2008 by Sherrilene : Living Ever Closer to Excellence! Sherrilene
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for November 10, 2008:

I've decided to revel in this question hehe Enjoy it now; I might just delete it later ;)

Since sleep is one of my favourite actions - yes I consciously decide to go to sleep, spirit led also - and sleep hasn't failed to fortify or satisfy me for a very long time, the process of rising from sleep in my opinion ought to be one of the pleasantest experiences of all, as well...

I prefer to have my senses gradually stimulated, be that my skin - anywhere; my hearing, with beautifully engaging music or water flowing; my sense of smell - a breakfast which might include fresh pastries and bacon frying is not a bad alternative and of course light, warm sweetness on my tastebuds...

No rushing, no hurrying, no frenzy. A pleasant movement from peaceful rest to peaceful and joyful awakening. I like to wake up smiling...

To me, this is the only way to be woken up. Anything else is an invasion of my senses, my peacefulness, my harmony and wellbeing.

Pleasant awakenings to all who are reading.

What is amazing about today?

Posted on Nov 11th, 2008 by Sherrilene : Living Ever Closer to Excellence! Sherrilene
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for November 11, 2008:

The obvious evolution of consciousness which is occurring around and within us. It is happening so rapidly! It's like if time has sped up and everywhere you look people are thinking prior to speaking and acting, that harmony and wellbeing are taking precedence. Not too long ago it was arguing which was the standard. Now the fighters seem quite nutty!

I know, I know. There are still the people holding on to panic and fear... of their own. It's such a comfortable place to live for some persons. But the numbers of persons speaking up for their truth are increasing, and I do like that!

Life is so amazing!

Who is your audience?

Posted on Nov 12th, 2008 by Sherrilene : Living Ever Closer to Excellence! Sherrilene
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for November 12, 2008:

The Universe.

I always act in the assumption that my every action is being 'seen' by the silent, non-judging but all-knowing observer who, otherwise, I might refer to as God.

This observer is aware of all the options available to me, what are my intentions, certainly which choice I make and on which rationale I base the choice. There is never an assumption that 'they' can't see...

As the Universe is also the power that will bless or reward me if I choose to have blessings, I am also conscious of what the Universe 'approves' and I seek to have my actions speak to those values.

I have learned that what the Universe values is

  1. generosity, or giving from a free heart to other functionaries within it;
  2. ease & release [so It can act in the best possible way];
  3. ardent emotion or passion towards love and happiness, since this fuels growth and
  4. harmony or equilibrium [balance].

Setting my intentions in alignment with any or ideally all of these values tends to make my life more expansive, more free flowing and harmonious, more energetic, more abundant...

If I can get it right for the universe, then it is safe to say, I will be ok with any other of its players who I interface with. That is, after all, the true Boss.

Peace and love to all friends out there!

Friend, Sherri

Optimism in the Skies now

Posted on Nov 15th, 2008 by Sherrilene : Living Ever Closer to Excellence! Sherrilene
Hi beautiful people.

I have not done a spontaneous blog for such a long time and I think it is because I don't really like to bring a message unless it is a Light ended, inspirational one. It is something about me optimising my best energy or something...

But I felt like sharing a lovely bit of information which might give a little nudge to the others out there who might be looking for a bit of confirmation about their own excitement.

One of the great present day astrologers Jonathan Cainer posted this forecast for the coming week. It gives me such excitement for the holiday season which is coming. Check it out:

Your Week Ahead

Mars, the power planet, moves into Sagittarius, the ultimate sign of optimism. It will remain in this sector of the sky till Boxing Day. That's just one of several reasons why I am not so sure that the run up to Christmas will be quite as quiet as many people now seem to expect. We're all being told to prepare for more bad news on the economic front but ordinary people, all over the planet, are actually in a very hopeful mood. They see a new president of the USA and a new vision of a better future in the minds of millions. The 'downturn' may yet turn again, sooner than many seem to think.

Call me the eternal optimist; I WILL TAKE IT! What can I say? The Universe persists in its conspiracy to always make things better in the long term...

I'm dreaming of a Bright Christmas!

Happy Times to All!

What's the most abundant resource in your life?

Posted on Nov 15th, 2008 by Sherrilene : Living Ever Closer to Excellence! Sherrilene
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for November 15, 2008:

My warmth of spirit...

I had to think about this a little to see if words like 'love' and 'harmony' etc. are what would express what it is that I seem to have an unlimited resource base for. But no, my spontaneous stockpile of self is of a keen desire and pleasure for having others happy and to feel joyful and excited about living. And so, this is how I approach anyone or how I respond on being 'introduced' to anybody. I'm friendly.

And it truly doesn't matter the circumstances for extending these gestures. I think I can do it with any living being... children and animals included lol

Not everybody can 'receive' it though. But I won't take that personally. In due time all will be aware of the holistic benefits of being wholesome and friendly with our neighbours. It'll kick in some day soon...

Extending real warmth to my friends here and beyond!

Lots of love and care to you.

What is your favorite theory?

Posted on Nov 17th, 2008 by Sherrilene : Living Ever Closer to Excellence! Sherrilene
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for November 17, 2008:

Thinking is unnecessary.

If we could move backwards [forwards?] to a place where mental energy is reduced to zero and thus we act entirely on instinct, we would be more contented and harmonious and, well, blissful!

We would also have a lesser desire to seek and grab more than we absolutely need because we would be looking outward less...

Yeh, I do believe that mental intellect is over-rated. Processing all this 'stuff' can be exhausting, distracting from all that is already given to us and frankly, time consuming.

This is just my instinctive thoughts speaking though...

Lots of love to all. Sherrilene

What was the last thing you wondered about?

Posted on Nov 21st, 2008 by Sherrilene : Living Ever Closer to Excellence! Sherrilene
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for November 21, 2008:

What next year is going to really look like, following all of the upheavals of this past period. It has been dramatic, hasn't it?

I'm curious about what economic system is going to emerge after all of the purging and cleansing is through and whether it will incorporate more players in the decision making this time and possibly contribute to harmony and wellbeing, rather than incite competition and in-fighting among people...

I don't know; my gut tells me it isn't likely to be as awful as it's been. I hold an excited breath as I wait expectantly for a more functionally liveable world to develop in my lifetime.

Ooh, the possibilities! I'm hopeful :)

Please help me! I need an antonym for 'Panic'

Posted on Nov 21st, 2008 by Sherrilene : Living Ever Closer to Excellence! Sherrilene
Hello friends

I just had the most interesting time trying to find a word which serves as a counter or parallel to a way of life based on fearing things. I usually come to a descriptor for that standard approach today, as 'panic'.

I've always ultimately realised that things work out and to not stay calm in the moment is not the best use of my energy. I definitely serve my world better by hanging in there and not getting swept too far with the tide of things. It helps a lot of people too, I find... So I practise it quite a bit in my work and would like to make it a standard for me.

To set me in the right mindframe as I choose how I am going to approach life and interact with other people consciously, and being a highly literate and literal thinker, [I used to say overly, but I'm built like this; what can I say?] I wanted to choose the right word to focus intention on as I continue on my calming path.

Guess what!

I couldn't find a thesaurus reference as an antonym to 'panic'. There are literally no words approved by thesaurus.com, either in the noun or the verb form which speak to the act of reacting or responding calmly to incoming or unexpected information and/or bringing calm to others when transmitting new, real but not necessarily 'sweet' information! [I will be happy to elaborate if this doesn't make sense!]

So I'm asking for your help; to put a name to what I have been attempting to do for some time, not fully consciously, as I make it conscious and make myself more aware of my '.....' efforts. [That's where the word would come in!]

I think about all the [just as highly] literate, hugely intelligent and wise persons here on Gaia and I see such possibilities for great outputs to my word search. [Yes, I'm kissing up lol]

Please, there are no limits. Let's get creative. And as you think of words, please approve or disapprove what has been proposed before. Also, don't hesitate to tell me what your process was for coming up with something. I'm always curious with the mind!

Thanks! It would be a big help for me...

My first ugly and cluttered attempt at a word for this is: enharmonise...

Can't wait to receive your insights. Thanks a lot!

No question, it was the reflection in my rear view mirror yesterday evening of the sun setting in the distance.

I literally did a double take!

It was totally, completely breathtaking!

The handful of clouds was a dark grey and so, matched against the deep pink of the sky it was so dramatic!

I honestly thought, God certainly knows how to paint a picture! Wowwww!!!

That struck me.

So happy to share.

You're going to love this: My new pet rabbit!

Posted on Nov 22nd, 2008 by Sherrilene : Living Ever Closer to Excellence! Sherrilene
I mentioned yesterday morning in response to Mila's blog that I had a new companion who keeps finding his way into my place and sniffing around.

He's kind of cute; ok, he is gorgeous!

But what's most funny is that he's now decided to take residence, yes, right here. Bugs has taken a place in my bedroom, and he ain't coming out.

His owner has been hunting for him forever! I said, hey, you didn't know he's been hanging out here?

She's so amused since this rabbit is pretty territorial apparently. I'm going to have to see what to do with him since I know little or nothing about rabbit care! And I don't want to pick him up since his sibling nibbled me previously.

I am not certain, but this guy seems to like my space quite a lot. Perhaps this is God's answer to me wanting to move out and get a dog???

The story continues.

Here are pictures of my bunny, hanging out by my fan!

Proud mum: He will be a great AG

by TONY BEST

"VERY PROUD. As a mother you would know how proud I was."

Miriam Holder, a Bajan New Yorker in East Elmhurst, was reflecting in Queens on her feelings when she first received word her 57-year-old son Eric was poised to make history as the first black attorney-general of the United States."

"I am sure he is going to do a very good job, once he has been confirmed by the Senate," added the widow, whose Bajan husband Eric Holder Sr died almost a dozen years ago in New York but whose ashes were scattered in his birthplace just last year.

"Oh, his father, were he here would have been very proud of him," added the woman now in her 80s.

"His sons were the lights of his life. I am sure he would have been extremely happy to see him move into this position, knowing he would do a very good job at it. Our son Eric is a well grounded person, fair in all that he does, will sit and listen and he makes decisions based on fairness. He has always been a person mature beyond his years."

That's not simply the assessment of a proud mother. Such sentiments were echoed both by critics and supporters alike in the days immediately after it became known that President Elect Barack Obama intended to nominate the former Washington DC Superior Court judge; a man who was the top federal prosecutor in the nation's capital, who went to become the country's deputy attorney-general and acted for about two weeks in the top job at the turn of the 21st century.

For instance, the Washington Post, one of America's most influential papers, in an editorial painted a picture of him as one who would "bring years of experience and top-notch credentials" to the job.

"The predominant features of his record are independence, integrity and effectiveness."

His mother traces the origins of those characteristics to his upbringing, his life growing up in Queens.

"He grew up, I guess you could say, in a West Indian home, and education was quite important," she said. "They knew they had to perform the way we wanted them to. Perhaps, I was a bit harder than I should have been. Education is always important.

"As Barbadians, you know that education has always been at the top of the list of their priorities, and that was the same in our home."

Religion was another key factor in their sons' moulding, worshipping at the Episcopal Church, a few blocks from their home in Queens. The two sons served as acolytes, attended Sunday School and were active in the church's youth group.

"The church was always very important to us," Ms Holder recalled.

In the home, the emphasis too was on the family and when it came time to sit around the table for a meal, typical West Indian dishes were on the menu.

"I did peas and rice, the typical West Indian dishes," she recalled. "I didn't do too well with cou-cou. I like it very much and my mother used to make it on Fridays and my sister and I weren't too happy with it.

"But on my first trip to Barbados, I had cou-cou and I wrote to mother and said, 'Guess what I am having and enjoying it'? An aunt on one of her trips to Barbados brought back a cou-cou stick for me but somehow or the other I just couldn't get it together." Did she follow the Bajan tradition of yesteryear of using the cou-cou stick on children's rear-ends to discipline Eric or his brother, William?

"Oh, no I didn't," she said with a hearty laugh.

As for Eric's sibling, he is a retired New York Port Authority police lieutenant who is now a successful businessman operating six McDonald's restaurant franchises.

"He is very enterprising; plays a lot of golf," she explained. "He lives not far away from where I live and I often spend Fridays at his home."

Ms Holder, who with her husband once owned a condominium in St Michael, which they sold two years ago, speaks fondly about Barbados, much like her son, "who is proud of his Barbadian heritage", said his mother.

"He really enjoyed the island, especially the Hilton Hotel, whenever he visited the island" in recent years, she said. "In some of his speeches, whenever he talks about the island, he says 'the jewel of the Caribbean' Barbados."

As she looks forward to the day when her son is sworn in as the attorney-general, she is confident about two things.

"The first is that he will be confirmed" by the Senate and secondly, "he will do an outstanding job as the first black attorney-general."

Where are you on your spiritual path?

Posted on Nov 23rd, 2008 by Sherrilene : Living Ever Closer to Excellence! Sherrilene
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for November 23, 2008:

I'm [back] at acceptance again.

You see, it comes and goes, my ability or desire to let it go and accept it's all a big plan and I'm a small player who should just chill out and listen, but more importantly, that nothing really is an event and life is just a cycle playing out, up and down, over and over, day in and day out.

You see, I know this, intellectually even. But as each situation presents itself I might swing back to behaviour like it's really up to me; like I'm in control of something other than my attitude or my world view about living...

So today I am at one of those acceptance phases where I let my spirit go once again to fly free and release me to my next phase. This time, of blissfulness, I expect lol

Meandering along like the spirit I am.

Blessed, Sherri

What's your favorite form of creative expression?

Posted on Nov 24th, 2008 by Sherrilene : Living Ever Closer to Excellence! Sherrilene
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for November 24, 2008:

I really love writing!

Like John [satya seer] I too consider myself to live a life of creative expression because I contemplate quite deeply all my actions in an effort to learn to live for myself and by choice and not necessarily those of society. We are untrained in this many times, so to go to the Source for even small things is full-time action! But it teaches me in what ways, and there are many, that I can live 'thoroughly', using what is already at my disposal... And then it's just great to attempt to articulate the process in common English or whatever language comes up which is useful! Some interesting new vocabulary is emerging lol [Heard of plerk, planic, Zenitude, encalming, perhaps I'll insert Blissitude next...]

I love designing!

I put together beautiful images with words of wisdom for my Quality of Life Reminders and yes, I get the high of achievement and accomplishment for a very good thing. The pleasure of re-looking my creative outputs doesn't seem to fade despite the moments of self-doubt which can sneak up about whether I should feel such joy in my creations! [Old ego games...]

I love facilitating!

Here I get to stand with a group and 'pull' connection from them. This draws on so many parts of myself and is so satisfying, I'd have to say that it is the best use of my gifts all-round. God would approve, I think...

I know I sort of rambled here but I got inspiration this morning somehow lol I hope you enjoyed my creative blog! I don't even generally consider myself to be creative, as a thinker is definitely what I am! And all of these sneaked up on me when I decided to let go once again to be guided where God leads me.

Clearly we each have our own methods of creativity which are actualised by combining our head and our hearts! I'm sure I have others worth developing.

Off to seek them.

Blessings to all  of you! Sherrilene

It's political.

I feel almost ridiculous to write this, given that I have been anti-The-System for such a long time. My whole drive to Quality of Life has been because I decided the System was destructive and destroying human qualitues almost systematically.

I then began a movement of sorts, a parallel or alternative fashion of living which stepped satisfaction right up, since I couldn't believe life was miserable and discontent all the time. I couldn't buy into it.

I watched simply as the system and its leaders got immersed in parties [of all kinds] and totally neglected the people. Yes, neglected the literal constituents of their politics. How short-sighted!

Well, in recent times I'm observing the transformation of political things and it's heart warming since this now takes the mandate that I've felt somehow responsible for, off my plate.

The best news I heard of recently was a noted colleague who I admire and trust implicitly is taking on the national portfolio for my field of expertise.

This follows a ton of other good news which shows a commitment to all people and development which as many know, I love. I'm so inspired!

That Obama thing wasn't so bad at all either! lol

So I'm happy to see developments that I can live for. It's kind of nice.

Peace to you.

More animal sagas... And size doesn't matter, spirit does

Posted on Nov 25th, 2008 by Sherrilene : Living Ever Closer to Excellence! Sherrilene
Ok, so you've heard about my downstairs neighbour's pet bunny who I've since been informed is named 'Twitchy' for, I think, obvious reasons, making his way to my home and settling in comfortably in my bedroom.

He's moved on and only comes to visit at will now, which is fine with me. I really don't mind if my home is like the proverbial wild kingdom as long as we are all free and living harmoniously.

Well, yes, as the title states, there is another story on animals to share now. In fact, I was sitting here again at my p.c. writing and I heard the pit patter of little feet... again. This time, they were quicker.

And I looked up to see my down the street neighbour's little Jack Russell terrier make his way in, auspiciously. And no, I've been living here over three years and this dog has never graced us here at the end of this gap [street for most of you] till today.

He came around, did his sniffing thing [there seems to be a lot of that; I've got to think on that for humans...] and proceeded quite comfortably to investigate my household, except that he even made it onto the balcony in seeking approval.

He finally let me pet him - better than Twitchy did of course - while he closely monitored the progress on the soup I am cooking. [I'm not going to feed him this time because I think he'd come back expecting things that I couldn't at all promise to deliver consistently!] Looks like he approved as well lol

The 'size doesn't matter' portion of this blog also refers to little Jacker. [No, I don't know his name. I can't remember at all... I'll find out sometime I'm certain.]

The other day when I went to visit another neighbour at the same time that Twitchy was heading out for breakfast - he had a plan for that, yes, thankfully! - the little Jack Russell guy strolled by. At that other neighbour's house there is a very big dog who scares the bejeezus out of people with his awesome voice and tremendous presence. He certainly did with me when I first moved here. He just isn't friendly at all. But in time I've been able to ac-calm him [yeh, just made that up lol] so he trusts me fairly well now and savours my visits. He still 'rules by fear' though...

What was great was when the Jack Russell showed up he totally put this big dog, a cross between a Doberman and Rottweiler, in his place! You should see lil Jacker shouting him down! The big one, let's call him 'All Bark', faded to nothing in the presence of true spirit.

I was impressed.

And now he is coming to visit me.

You think times are changing? Man, even the animals are stepping up to divinity!

Peace and love... and power to the peaceful.

Reasonable facsimile of 'All Bark'. Imagine him about 1.5 times this size...

World Leadership Day Ambassadorship

Posted on Nov 28th, 2008 by Sherrilene : Living Ever Closer to Excellence! Sherrilene
Wld_header

I have been blessed to be invited to be an Ambassador for World Leadership Day 2009 representing Barbados.

I have always had an interest in successful leadership and continue to be inspired by such people as Gandhi, Mother Teresa, the Dalai Lama, Errol Barrow and Bob Marley because of their almost selfless leadership.

You may remember my activities in March this year during Conversation Week, where we explored the subject: What kind of leadership does the world need now? See this link for our findings.

World Leadership Day is inspired by visionary Elisabeth Gortschacher and is a

'global, grassroots initiative to inspire, connect and transform leadership thinking across generations, gender and cultures. It is a platform for new leadership to emerge and for disillusioned and burnt out leaders to reconnect with what is truly important and bring meaning, joy and passion back into their lives.' It was started in 2007.

I certainly endorse such initiatives and I am looking forward to enjoying myself while influencing thinking on leadership among this wonderful, passionate and energetic group.

Fellow GAIAn Terrill Welch, Female Leadership advocate and the author of 'Leading Raspberry Jam Visions: Women's Way' [the book I quoted from at the FABEE launch in October] recommended me and is the Ambassador for Canada.

We will be announcing our activities via our individual websites and that of WLD hoping to of course get as many people worldwide involved, so please do not hesitate to spread the word.

More news as it comes to hand.

How exciting!

Peace and love to all friends.

Sincerely,

Sherrilene

What was the last thing you found?

Posted on Nov 29th, 2008 by Sherrilene : Living Ever Closer to Excellence! Sherrilene
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for November 29, 2008:

That there is no need that I have, that the Universe does not provide for.

As I continually take chances and step outwards in my faith, something I am practically 'impelled' to do also for my next stage of growth, I'm finding that some incredible supports are turning up to help me along my way.

Earlier this year my house guest and I visited a beach that I had grown up visiting quite a bit, but that I had not had the time nor mental space to spend time at for a while. It was a pleasant, reminiscent visit to this place of my youth as I watched the youngsters 'hitting off' the jetty, just like they did for probably the last hundred years...

It was low tide and, the waters being so flat on the West Coast, we were able to walk out quite a ways without the water ever reaching more than waist high! We were easily out 400 metres and still more than safe, which is phenomenal!

To be that far out and not strong swimmers is a risk; I knew I was risking it as the tide could come back in quickly and I had no guarantee that either of us was really that capable in the deep. But just as I was getting anxious and could do with some assurance, do you know I found whole sand hills in the water? So, more crazy, I could actually stand up on really solid ground, while very far out at sea! From a distance it probably looked quite interesting lol

I reflected at that point that I never would have known that these foundations of support were there in the first place, had I not stepped out there! But they are there...

In fact, every direction I take out of the zone of familiarity is providing me with other examples of this... It is mentally challenging to see how many and how much, but I continue to learn to accept this reality...

My journey therefore continues with enthusiasm... and incredible support.

Love you all, Sherri.
