World Leadership Day Ambassadorship

I have been blessed to be invited to be an Ambassador for World Leadership Day 2009 representing Barbados. I have always had an interest in successful leadership and continue to be inspired by such people as Gandhi, Mother Teresa, the Dalai Lama, Errol Barrow and Bob Marley because of their almost selfless leadership.
You may remember my activities in March this year during Conversation Week, where we explored the subject: What kind of leadership does the world need now? See this link for our findings.
World Leadership Day is inspired by visionary Elisabeth Gortschacher and is a
'global, grassroots initiative to inspire, connect and transform leadership thinking across generations, gender and cultures. It is a platform for new leadership to emerge and for disillusioned and burnt out leaders to reconnect with what is truly important and bring meaning, joy and passion back into their lives.' It was started in 2007.
I certainly endorse such initiatives and I am looking forward to enjoying myself while influencing thinking on leadership among this wonderful, passionate and energetic group.
Fellow GAIAn Terrill Welch, Female Leadership advocate and the author of 'Leading Raspberry Jam Visions: Women's Way' [the book I quoted from at the FABEE launch in October] recommended me and is the Ambassador for Canada.
We will be announcing our activities via our individual websites and that of WLD hoping to of course get as many people worldwide involved, so please do not hesitate to spread the word.
More news as it comes to hand.
How exciting!
Peace and love to all friends.
Sincerely,
Sherrilene

thank you too for introducing Terrill, Sherri, who sent me a link to a South African branch which i'm finding out about. ive been wanting to do a life Coaching course for some time since I've been counselling and find it a wondrous experience. There's so much out there so I follow the leads which come my way
much love
Do they have a representative for Nepal and South Africa? If I may say so, Mila for Nepal and Anna for SA are wonderful able ambassadors for their respective countries.
love,
Samme
hahaha You are reading my mind, Samme.
Terrill will tell you that these precise two names were the ones I immediately put forward for consideration. I have subsequently approached Mila and am only sorting through how things are done to know if I can approach Anna since there is an Ambassador for South Africa from this year and I'm uncertain if there are time limits or even limits in numbers!
This morning I also wondered if an Ambassador for a country has to be resident in that country since I said that maybe Samme could represent the Phillipines and Mila still represent Nepal even from Canada.
I will make an inquiry. Certainly nothing to lose!
Anna, perhaps you could inquire from your end since I suspect you have the same connection that I'd have, and you'd get to communicate with them directly and in real time.
How exciting!! [I keep repeating lol] I love the connections. The synapses are definitely working… at all hours and in all locations! Niiiice :)
Pretty soon we will literally have this world covered hahha
Loads of love. Will keep in touch.
Sherri
Ahhh Sherri! There could not be a better Ambassador for this event and i send you all good wishes for this honored event. Gaia Networking is so lucky this month as we get to learn more of your adventures with Amber as mod. This is a beautiful blog.
I love how we immediately recognize potential ambassadors for World Leadership Day - or we are drawn to this celebration like a magnet to true north.
The following might help with some of your questions….
Though at this time there is one ambassador for each country - each country ambassador will be seeking to create a team to help celebrate authentic leadership and World Leadership Day in that country on or around March 20th.
This year's theme is “beyond the surface” - such a great theme (with all its possible meanings) and it seems to resonate right to the heart of our Gaia community. The best person to contact if you are drawn to World Leadership Day celebration is Elisabeth Gortschacher or the ambassador for your country that can be found at this link http://www.worldleadershipday.org/index.html (and our lovely, talented and gracious Sherrilene is already listed there).
I hope this is helpful and I am honoured to be part of both the WLD and Gaia… communities - communities that bring out the best in each of us!
Terrill
p.s. As the ambassador for Canada, I am currently putting together this years WLD team for Canada. Right now I have team members from Nova Scotia and Saskatchewan - if you live in Canada and are drawn to the WLD celebrations, please feel free to contact me.
Oh, Sherrilene! Congratulations… and thank you, too, to Terrill for all your incredible work. This sounds just amazing.

Sherri, Samme, thank you for your kind words. I actually thought this blog was relating to life coaching - now I'm wondering! Please tell me more!
much love
Sherri, am I too late to say WOW??! I am so excited for you! How perfect this fits you!! The mission statement alone is enough to have me doing heart flips: global, grassroots inspiration … a platform for leaders to reconnect with what is truly important and bring meaning, joy and passion [back into] their lives.
I had to bracket back into because YOU already are the exemplar of joy and passion – if only we could bottle and pass it around…. Wait! It amounts to the same, by having you as one of the Ambassadors to the World Leadership Day.
Change is soooo on the horizon. Thank God!
Peace and Oceans of Love,
jeannie
lol Anna. Details on the Ambassadorship are on the WLD Home page.
The SA Rep is perhaps a Life Coach and can therefore advise you in that vocational capacity. We just think you'd be a great leader and could add value to the whole initiative.
Jeannie, never too late to bring love and encouragement. I adore it completely!
Thanks to everyone. Sherri
Thanks Samme and Sherri for thinking of me. I did already discuss the matter with Sherri by e-mail. While I was most interested to represent Nepal, I was not sure whether it would work out due to our planned relocation to Canada. But while I'm still here I would be delighted to help in whatever way I can!
