The Motivation

Warmth
This design here, in its evidently basic and average-skilled form, represents the motivation for the start of my company, the Human Quality Headquarters, a few years ago.

Above all, it saddened me to see how many persons were depressed and cynical about life, had grown careless and apathetic and hopeless about the future, which truly was the usual in the world here in my country. Not too much has changed now in the business settings I understand, and I hear that it is the same all over the world, not just here: people doing a lot of 'work' and 'duties' which have little meaning and value to them, or to anyone else that they care for. The result, quite naturally, is apathy...

This is what basically drove me out of the rat race, and the observation that so many other good people were without life, without hope and seeing the future hopelessly, just tore my heart out. The reasons for all this are well documented so I won't waste much time now going into it unless someone wants me to, [something connected to a slave society in my country's case and added to the good ol' Protestant Work Ethic, I gather],  but I just felt compelled to create an entity that could rest right here in the midst of it, to show it is possible to work meaningfully AND comfortably EVEN in Barbados - the Cynicism Centre of the Universe.

I then had a vision of simply more harmonious relationships in the workplace and basically a much better place to live and work in, since the one thing you will have to deal with every work day is... people! If they are all miserable, how the heck could you possibly expect the environment to be? A cold, cold world, that's what you can expect. My own experiences both locally and internationally just told me this wasn't necessary! Wonderful life and living are... right here!

So I set out back then to warm the world, my world at the time, the only way I knew how, which was to show more love and compassion and humanity to them generally, and to help to create opportunities and encourage ideas that give people excitement and enthusiasm to be alive everyday. That's what I do best, so I thought, I better just do what I have the ability to do! [I had immersed myself in a great Personal Development course a little while before, so I'd got that!]

I'm satisfied. My world is warm, and getting warmer. And loving-er. My students and participants in all my courses are really happy with my efforts, which is the true test. My neighbours are lovely and generous, and my efforts have led me to being right here in a truly loving place too, online, where I can continue to do what I do best and feel happiness and contentment with my living, and to help warm my colleagues up here too.

I'm just saying to you guys, that it doesn't have to move mountains to make some kind of difference in people's lives. I expect in due course to, through some diverse and winding road, to contribute to something or things significant to alleviate the hardships of people generally, since many of the same principles do apply. But I'm trying to take it one step at a time.

I'm sure I'll keep you posted on this.

Please use the quote as inspiration friends here.

Much love, as always to you,

Sherrilene

I really enjoyed reading this. It IS very motivating! I used to be very cynical myself I'm so glad I let go of that illusion. The world really is a beautiful place and the more love and compassion we show others the more their hearts will open.  :-)

I love the quote!
