Janet inspired me by being provocative about what led to her getting 10,000 views in a year. Mine took longer but I'm not surprised, because I know my dynamics and what brings people over and I closed down quite some time ago by choice in that regard.
Nonetheless, 10,000 profile views seems like quite a nice round figure to reflect on! And by the way, Andrea [drechanteuse] was the [lucky?] person to stroll by just about that time.
Whew! 10,000! That is a big number. Especially for a kid from an island whose population numbers also in the thousands! I'm pretty certain that the views were mostly international though, also knowing my people and the likelihood of them tracking down and reading my GAIA profile.
It has been quite an educational experience noting socio-cultural differences across Western countries, especially the U.S. and the U.K., vs. standard living here. I am still digesting how 'net' life proliferates and is rampant in the West. For example, to hear social initiatives being launched to make sure everyone has access to broadband internet, first in the U.K. and then in the U.S., nearly threw me off my chair! With poverty and lack of opportunity reigning quite high in other places as first priority, this seemed like an absolute stretch to me. But that's the reality of different perspectives... still lots I don't know, obviously!
Reaching out on the net has served me beautifully. There are some pretty awesome people that are also quite net savvy [and hooked, like me!], and it continues to amaze me how well we communicate even though we aren't reliant on body language, or have all of the traditional requirements for 'good communication' at hand... There's just something about sincerity that transcends, isn't there?
GAIA is still my favourite home within my home [not quite 'away'... no, not at all!] I've met some beauties [and some uglies!] here. I've got great proof of what is possible within humans in every place through this route. We are not just 'all one', we are all precisely 'the same'! The basics apply everywhere, no matter the little ebbs and flows, the panics which come about from societal response. Name a single [reasonably balanced] person that isn't first interested in being contented and I will be happy to talk with them and see what lessons are there for each of us to walk away with.
And I've no doubt, we'd end up with the same conclusion!
Thanks, my GAIA crew for being yourselves and making this island girl / global girl feel at home. It's good to know you're out there, helping to keep things in some kind of check, while the rest of the world gets its own check in order. I'm encouraged everyday with your presence.
If only you add to my counter by coming by to grapevine me, I'll take it! This is as close as I'm going to get to reaching out and saying a loving hi to my global, resonant community! I do enjoy it very much.
Keep in touch. I love you!!

Such a lovely way to reach out, Sherri. Sometimes measures such as this, make it all the more real, how many times people have reached out to your profile. Quiet something–though I think of you more as a global island girl than “just” an island girl!!!
Umm…would you like to link to this at the Blogs Room on Gaia Networking?
Hi dear. I don’t have a preference presently re: linking etc. I’ve got a lot on my plate so I couldn’t commit to follow-through right now. But I do appreciate your comment! It’s always great to hear from you.
Peace, Sherri
You make me smile. Good morning my friend and Keep on with the bright light that shines like a beacon around you. :)
Congrats on your 10,000 views Sherri. You’re such a lovely person…no wonder it didn’t take too long to get people viewing your profile & reading your blogs. It’s a delight to know you on Gaia. Keep on shining!
wishing you 10,000 more
The islands are one, the whole wolrd is an island in the stream of life and endless should the river grow, for all who share the love we know. Congratulations Sherri, love, peace and happiness, may viewing grow, since no one knows everything, but, everyone knows something and all the somethings equal everything and everything is good to know :)
i believe that the drive for the connectivity is fueled by the lack of true connections to the true things that matter.
“For example, to hear social initiatives being launched to make sure

opportunity reigning quite high in other places as first priority, this

Thanks for the comments, especially business voodoo. I take your point; I have noticed that it’s more likely for people to connect via text message and internet in Western countries than face to face. The pace of things is such. But connection is quite critical, ideally not the superficial type but I think we’re getting there, slowly but surely. I believe GAIA is a prototype of such mechanisms. It still requires people pausing long enough to reflect, read, comment, receive and reflect some more! With enough effort and will, anything is possible.
Di, Kathy, Tom, Paul, big hugs! Great to meet you in this place!
S
congratulations. this is a special place and you are a special part of it. Hugs!
Nic, big thanks. Peace and love. S
Such a wonderful refelction of the love and connection Sherri..
The ones who visit, share and grow together are all a part of you and the expansive creative process which is unfolding..
Culture, class, socio economic quarters, distance somehow seem to fade in this wonderful space and vision..
I am grateful for you, for your contribution and service, your passion which always shines with truth, caring and inspiring purpose..
May you always know the abundance you so beautifully share..
Love
Ange..
Ange, my sister. I am so appreciative of you as well. Just know that my light is a reflection of yours and the other bright lights in my circle of friends!
Love always, Sherri
I’ve come to bask in the glowing warmth of so much radiant Love! Whenever I stop by, I feel as if a cup of tea some scrumptious treats are about to be passsed my way. (They are!) I feel just like you do, that Gaia is my home within my home. And one of the very special rooms, with the most phenomenal view of beauty, is right here.
Peace and Oceans of Love!
