Are we there yet?

Posted on Apr 1st, 2009 by Sherrilene : Living Ever Closer to Excellence! Sherrilene
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for April 01, 2009:

Who's 'we'?

If there was an inherent unity among us, there wouldn't be any cause to have terms like 'we' or 'they' in our vocabulary.

Sad to say, I don't detect that much unity among us yet. We still hold the view that some people have this and do that and others something else etc. And we often justify our choices based on littlest differences rather than connection.

The journey is to Unity, I'd say.

And we are not there yet, sorry.

But hopefully very VERY soon!

Peace,

Joyfully,

Sherri

Considerably less drama in my space :)

I am reminded again that drama is best experienced on a stage or in a movie.

Real life is so much easier on the system.

I'm feeling that.

Wishing everyone a really satisfying day.

What are your rules for life?

Posted on Apr 4th, 2009 by Sherrilene : Living Ever Closer to Excellence! Sherrilene
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for April 04, 2009:

There are probably a few that come to mind. A few quotes remind me of them...

  1. Love and do what you like - St. Augustine
  2. So let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father [figurative]. - Jesus Christ
  3. Go out into the world and love the people you meet. Let your presence light new light into the hearts of people - Mother Teresa and
  4. Be the change you wish to see in the world - Gandhi

And to tell you the truth, it is not nearly as hard to follow these as it was to follow the nonsense my old boss used to expect me to do at work lol

Peace,

S

What do you believe about astrology?

Posted on Apr 5th, 2009 by Sherrilene : Living Ever Closer to Excellence! Sherrilene
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for April 05, 2009:

It's fun, actually. It seems to help me understand my feelings especially, at a time. It certainly puts the 'Big Picture' in perspective!

I find that the Astro Weather [Christopher Witecki] is more informative to me as a person than the network news items :) And I am far less surprised by 'world events' because generally they're forecasted in advance by the astrologers.

My favourites for entertainment value are Christopher Witecki - www.soulgarden.tv and Jonathan Cainer - www.cainer.com.

The most comprehensive astrologer for me, however, is Steve Judd - www.stevejudd.com.

Peace and blessings!

What are you waiting for?

Posted on Apr 6th, 2009 by Sherrilene : Living Ever Closer to Excellence! Sherrilene
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for April 06, 2009:

To be told to act, by Nature.

I think even the tasks that we so often feel 'behind' with are not yet 'due' to be completed. And for some things we need to learn the appropriate lessons thoroughly before we can act on an opportunity effectively. So there is, in my opinion, no opportunities lost, just an occasion to learn and grow...

It is definitely a matter of if we choose to act when prompted by intuition that makes a difference, I think. There are times when I've responded to someone's prodding to the direct contradiction of my gut instinct and ended with quite dissatisfying results.

But those times I have reacted with no resistance to my instinct have always been very great!

It is the former situations that I have a greater interest right now in recognising. I want to be aware enough, to respond to my gut even in the face of very strong social pressure, even from within my close circle, which is where most of such types of pressure tend to occur...

In the meantime I await instruction from the All Knowing... Source.

Peace and blessings,

Sherrilene

Kiddies!

It's always kiddies that are the most adorable and perfect in their complete perfected selves!

I just love to see them toddling along, up a stairs, into your path as they walk unware but trusting...!

And to see them playful with their mummies is the dearest thing, no?

I just totally love 'em!

Taking the Quality of Life Message to North America

Posted on Apr 9th, 2009 by Sherrilene : Living Ever Closer to Excellence! Sherrilene

hq2 will take its Quality of Life message to North America as it presents 'Employ Your Natural Talents' at a Vision Practice Retreat, in conjunction with Terrill Welch [http://www.awomanbehindwomen.ca], noted author and Female Leadership Advocate, on Mayne Island, British Columbia, Canada on April 25th, 2009.

The event will be the first presentation of Quality of Life principles directly to the North American market and will follow participation at the International Association of Facilitators North American Conference which is being held from April 20-25, 2009.

At this event, Sherrilene Collymore will present a workshop on the topic 'Transcending Culture' to this professional association of facilitators.

'Employ Your Natural Talents'
is directly responding to the concerns by many individuals about how best to ensure their continued ability to sustain themselves financially in an uncertain economic climate.

It is designed to highlight the qualitative aspects which will provide a greater chance of self sustaining throughout high and low economic periods and has as its objective, to help participants walk away empowered and inspired to utilise their talents for their own, and their community's wellbeing.

hq2's Vancouver visit is sponsored in part by Peter Brown of Humanwave [http://www.humanwave.com], a visionary organisation established to partner people with worthwhile causes.

Full details of the 'Employ Your Natural Talents' Vision Retreat can be found at this link: http://terrill.gaia.com/blog/2009/4/employ_your_natural_talents.

We will also take this opportunity to show our support for a cause of importance to hq2, which is Children without Parents.

With best regards,

Sherrilene M. Collymore

What questions have you been asking in your life recently?

Posted on Apr 10th, 2009 by Sherrilene : Living Ever Closer to Excellence! Sherrilene
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for April 10, 2009:

What else can I let go, of my old conditioning?

How, specifically, will I manifest my vision now?

What have I forgotten about in my kitchen cupboards and wardrobes?

When will I willingly give up clocks, besides for aesthetic purposes - the chime, the beautiful wood of an antique... - and schedules except for co-ordinating with other people?

And I say...!

Like everything else, I'm sure answers are on the way.

Peace & Blessings

Introducing Causes Page - First Cause: Children without Parents

Posted on Apr 18th, 2009 by Sherrilene : Living Ever Closer to Excellence! Sherrilene

hq2 will [at long last] begin to direct its energies to a variety of causes which we consider to be strong Quality of Life issues and we have consequently launched our ‘Causes’ page, which can be found at this link: http://www.hq-2.com/Causes.htm. The first of these causes is that of Children without Parents.

Our first official activity to support this cause will take place on Mayne Island, British Columbia on April 25th, 2009, at which time a donation from the retreat will be made to a family where children live with their grandmother – a woman who is a leader in many aspects of her life and community.

Here are some excerpts from a recent interview:

’I would like to raise the subject of the next generation and the need to zero-in on their needs as a matter of urgency, and especially to focus on the children without parents that are often forgotten, but who are no less relevant as humans.’

As we roll out ideas on this and other areas in the future, we invite your attention and willing support of these efforts to enhance universal Quality of Life in any way possible.

Thank you and best regards,

Who or what do you give authority to?

Posted on Apr 19th, 2009 by Sherrilene : Living Ever Closer to Excellence! Sherrilene
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for April 19, 2009:

When it truly comes down to it, I give authority to the Universe's Desire.

I know I, as a human, especially one who has grown up in the 'way of things' which says things like clocks and deadlines are what govern existence, on the day, will fall into the pattern of making things be about my short term will.

But when it comes to the Moments of Truth, I ultimately let go to the Greater Good or the Will of the Spirit, even where so many will dispute with me in that moment.

This has truly helped me to refine my circle, however. And to get and keep respect for myself.

How can simplicity support aliveness?

Posted on Apr 22nd, 2009 by Sherrilene : Living Ever Closer to Excellence! Sherrilene
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for April 22, 2009:

Baggage slows us down. I think we can visualise this rather simply if we attempt to.

The more things we carry around, the more drag on our bodies, our systems, the longer the recovery period when we [get to] drop them. I think we also accumulate dependencies on external 'things' to carry us through this eternal recovery as well, be it drugs or food or people or what have you... all chemicals, by the way...!

Then there is the difficulty of managing 'things'; knowing what is 'in there', what you did with 'it'... keeping the lot of things in fine order... There is nothing like pulling out a pair of shoes or something really nice and watching it collapse in your hands from mildew or dry rot from plain and simple neglect...!

Just having a few necessary [and lovely] things to manage releases time and energy for quick movement, fast response to important things, to think quickly and be responsive in an effective fashion... To living...

... if you want to be that way...

Peace,

Sherrilene

S'All Mine!
I endorse giving 'things' away where they're needed...

Through life; and it's a great feeling!

I'm having a good time while observing how many different obstacles we could put into our way to cause the flow obstruction we talk about... to see how much fluidity is at our disposal if we desire it... It is an interesting time!

What work do you do that doesn't seem like work?

Posted on Apr 28th, 2009 by Sherrilene : Living Ever Closer to Excellence! Sherrilene
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for April 28, 2009:

Nice approach, Siona, with the Gay Hendricks questions!

Personal coaching feels so enriching as I feel out what people need and want and guide them along an inspired path to empowering conclusion... That would be one for me. As a researcher by nature, who is fascinated by humanity, it just feels enjoyable to explore nuances, that have often never been travelled, with another person.

Then there is facilitation, to audiences of any size... This combines my gift of teaching with, again, my interest in human thinking and decision making processes.

Writing, travel, interviewing incredible people, public speaking... all so much fun! I'm glad I found my niche.

Loving ya! Sherri

British Columbia; see you again very soon!

Posted on Apr 29th, 2009 by Sherrilene : Living Ever Closer to Excellence! Sherrilene
Where to begin?

I had the greatest difficulty to decide which part of my Vancouver visit to write on first! So I will cover a bit of everything and then break it down bit by bit, later on.

Many, many high points; indeed the low points fail me now. The dominant theme of this trip seemed to be consciousness of humanity. I am more hopeful than ever, now, that we are coming into our potential and will see the evidences of this manifested in contributive ways.

My hosts, both from Canada, did their country proud. I had such a welcome into Canada! At the very least, the service in Vancouver was very courteous and hospitable as a general rule. I enjoyed downtown Vancouver which isn't very different from most metropolises, except that it is very, very clean and you can sense the 'green' energies and efforts ongoing. The city is rated one the greenest, if not the greenest, in the world.

Beautiful VCR

The weather was fantastic the entire week. Bright and sunny and no rain that I can remember. Chilly temperatures from time to time but I expected that. It didn't at all take away from the atmosphere. The IAF Conference I participated in as a workshop leader was educational and it opened my eyes to the state of the art in my field of facilitation, especially where it relates to its application to Diversity. My enrichment came from people who were proposing inclusive practices and delving deeper towards self knowledge and vision fulfillment such as Shoshonna Cogan and Nanci Luna Jimenez, both of whom I had also met last year at the European Conference in the Netherlands. Meeting with other Barbadian colleagues there was also really enjoyable especially dancing together to the calypso band on the second last evening!

Then began my official tourist activities with the visit to Victoria by ferry via Grenville Island, along with my host Peter Brown[humanwave.gaia.com]. What a beautiful island! Victoria is the capital of the province so the Parliament buildings are located there.

Sunny Victoria BC

A much deeper immersion in Humanwave and its philosophies and actions over the years helped with the enrichment of this time. It is so encouraging to see how many others greatly desire a conscious consideration of humanity in modern life and will be willing to 'stick their neck out' to see the change they envision occurring, however small!

Then onto Mayne Island to see and 'work' with my beautiful, vivacious and fully living hostess Ms. Terrill Welch, [terrill.gaia.com] a Woman Behind Women! This was surprisingly one of the most comfortable work activities I have ever participated in as somehow both Terrill and I took quite a risk and decided to co-facilitate a pretty significant workshop, having never even met in person until the day before the activity! Neither of us is of the nature to co-facilitate because of the specific nature of our content and our methodologies, but somehow we both knew it was worth the try. And most definitely it was a good decision to do this! Participant feedback was excellent, which makes the difference in facilitation and we are looking forward to doing this again as soon as it is feasible. Terrill's book 'Leading Raspberry Jam Visions: Women's Way ' targeted at Women Leaders has been serving me very well for many months and I endorse it unhesitatingly for both female and male readers that wish to learn more about thoughtfully rounded human leadership.

Another beautiful island although far more rustic than Victoria, I had the opportunity in Mayne Island to go hiking, to hear the peacocks, frogs, sheep from the below farm and birds do their thing while they lived contentedly among the humans and to witness deer strolling around also unconcerned. Like I said, this was no usual business trip! I enjoyed not feeling the need to dress 'business-like' to do my job and to have the sense that there was no requirement except to show up and zero in and to perform.

Mayne Island arrival

A significant high point for me was meeting up with someone I would consider a hero to me and that is Patricia Fitzgerald, a grandmother on Mayne Island who has willingly taken the responsibility of raising two young and challenging children in the interest of their future wellbeing despite her advanced age. A true, true lady, I felt honoured to even be in her presence, to hear how enthusiastic she is for the future, to hear of her 'net savvy' and excitement for the Obamas and indeed for the upcoming, more conscious generation. Again, a real inspiration! Patricia continues to be very active in the community, helping the homeless along with other senior citizens, all while raising two young children in really challenging circumstances. I continue to applaud Patricia for her dedication.

Patricia Sherrilene

My visit concluded with a meeting day in Vancouver with one new person and one dear friend from GAIA. The new person was Louise Uwacu [http://web.me.com/louiseuwacu ] who was just a picture in contradictions but absolutely refreshing! Louise is a Positivity Activist – therefore a sister of mine! - who hails from Canada via Europe, via Africa. Her eyes are fully open and so is her heart and she shares this positivity with the world in every way she can. I was so pleased to have the opportunity to meet Louise in person while she works on marketing her book 'The Nightmare of a Positivision', which I am eagerly diving into at present. Do, please, consider buying a copy.

Louise Terrill Sherri

And last but not least was my meeting with Mila [armila.gaia.com], proper name Armila Shakya, a friend that I have 'known' for maybe a year or so but couldn't even imagine when we would have the privilege to meet in person since she was based in Nepal and me in the Caribbean. Thanks to an incredible alignment of the stars, my first visit to Canada coincided with Mila's relocation there as well, and to the very same city I would be visiting. This was definitely a very high point and auspicious occasion for us all!

Terrill, Mila and I discussed so many topics which crossed culture, which spoke to motivation and human intent to help bring some relative equality to the world as we know it, to improve and rationalise education, to make it possible for developing countries to actually develop and to compete in the real world. We were all concerned about Mila's own social enterprise Phelge Nepal [http://www.phelgenepal.com.np/], employing people in Nepal, and explored how to ensure consistency of employment for the workers there at a time when the greatest concern worldwide is cutting costs... We continue to think on this...

Mila Sherri Terrill

My immersion in what would otherwise have been a pretty routine visit to a new country was certainly enhanced by the depth of conversations we were able [and willing] to have around basic human issues which we all felt were approachable with sufficient desire: to reduce suffering in the first instance and to move us to satisfaction in the second.

Canada was good to me. I hope now I can bring this energetic goodness and place it further into my work.

With sincere gratitude and appreciation.

Sherrilene
